British India: Corporate Takeover and Colonization for ages 18+ will be held at the Yellow Springs Community Library on Sat., Apr. 8, from 2-4 p.m. Srikumaran Melethil, Ph.D., J.D., discusses how the business corporation East India Company (EIC) came to trade with India around 1600 and then became its ruler by the 1850s. The focus will be on the political circumstances in India and policies of the EIC that allowed this to happen and the relevancy of this part of Indian history for contemporary America.
