Searching for George Rogers Clark in Yellow Springs

June 5, 2018 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Free

Searching for George Rogers Clark in Yellow Springs for ages 18+ will be held at Yellow Springs Community Library on Tue., Jun. 5, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Yellow Springs resident Chris Till will discuss George Rogers Clark’s possible passage through Yellow Springs. In 1780, Clark and 2,000 American soldiers likely marched through Yellow Springs. After levelling Old Town north of Xenia, Clark’s army headed for west Springfield. There, in the poorly named Battle of Piqua, Clark’s army defeated a small Native army. It seems that Clark’s route from Xenia to Springfield has not been properly mapped. Perhaps it is possible now.
