The SERTI Technique of Painting on Silk

SERTI is a traditional way of controlling water-based dye or fabric paint on silk using a resist so that the flow of dye is controlled. While the dye is kept from spreading beyond the resist fence, it allows the artist to create beautiful effects by layering the color using water color, sumi and Chinese wash brushes.   Participants will go home with a finished piece.

Cost is $40 per person and includes materials. Open to ages 12 and up (12-15 must be accompanied by an adult), Class size limited to 12. Registration and payment due by August 20th
