Tomato Tasting and Full Moon Hike

Tomatoes are at the at their peak; one can only marvel at the genetic diversity found in everyone’s favorite homegrown vegetable. This tasting includes examining and rating a variety of tomatoes, from our garden and yours. Participants are encouraged to bring in their favorite garden varieties to share and compare!

After the tasting, we will journey into the Glen for a moon-lit walk on the Inman Trail. All ages welcome, minors must be accompanied by an adult.

A few notes for this event:
* This hike is limited to 40 participants. Early registration is strongly encouraged. Walk in participation is not permitted.
* We appreciate your participation. Please pre-wash tomatoes from your garden, farmers market, or favorite store.
* Please arrive at the Trailside Museum, approximately 10 minutes early to sign in. Your hike guide, Paul Sampson, will begin at 9pm.
* The Trailside Museum is located at 505 Corry Street, Yellow Springs. From the parking lot, the museum is located off of the right corner, behind the kiosk, or at the end of the boardwalk, located in the center of the parking lot.
* This is a moderate intensity hike. Please dress appropriately for the weather, wear closed toe shoes.
* Trekking poles or hiking sticks are permitted.
* Red or blue filtered-light flashlights are permitted. No white lights please, as this disrupts your natural night vision. (Blue/red filtered lights are available at most outdoor stores; a colored cellophane or plastic filter is also permitted.)
* Since this is a night hike, all participants under 16 years of age, must be accompanied by a guardian.
* Strollers are not permitted on the Full Moon Hike. Infant/toddler backpacks/slings are permitted.

* The tomato tasting will take place rain/or shine. The hike is weather dependant.
