Transformative Action Inquiry Workshop
This unique workshop builds rare skills in interpersonal effectiveness for strategic action in any setting—leadership, management, work groups, or conflict resolution. It teaches new forms of purposeful communication, planning, and strategizing. Participants will learn to recognize and avoid gaps among their intentions, strategies, and actions as they practice and debrief new insights and skills.

What: A 2½ – day hands-on workshop with manual
When: June 26-28, 2015

This workshop is designed and led by Dr. Sara Ross, Director of Interdisciplinary Graduate Programs at Antioch University Midwest (AUM), an associate author of the book, Action Inquiry: The Secret to Timely and Transformative Leadership.

Dr. Ross co-facilitates the workshop with Dr. Andrea Zavakos, adjunct faculty member in two AUM graduate programs: Conflict Analysis and Resolution, and Management and Change Leadership

By the end of the workshop, participants will:

— Know why these practices of healthy communication transform relationships and situations for the better
— Plan their communications with deliberate strategies
— Feel comfortable using action inquiry’s “four parts of speech”
— Compare “before and after” to explain why interventions with others work better this way
— Observe their increased sophistication in self-reflection and communication skills.

Prerequisite: For at least 7 days before the workshop, do the supplied brief “warm up exercises” in observation and critical reflection. (The exercise handout is emailed upon registration.)
