Express Yourself Saturday Children’s Event

March 11, 2017 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Get ready for your summer vacation reading by meeting local and nationally known authors. The National Afro-American Museum and Cultural Center will host a series of book talks featuring thought-provoking writers:

Columbus author Linda Fleming Willis reads from her new children’s book,
Poppa’s Ring. Set in Columbus, it offers a glimpse into the personal life of National Football League
trailblazer Bill Willis as a hands-on father and role model. After the book talk, stay for our Express
Yourself Saturday art workshop at 1:00 p.m. Anansi the Spider is an African/Caribbean folk hero that is
mischievous, wise, and loveable. Learn more about Anansi and create your own super hero spider
using polymer clay, pipe cleaners, and other fun stuff. Columbus art educator Lynn Grimes will
facilitate the art workshop.

Free with paid museum admission.
