Beloved local musician Carl Schumacher has been living for over 4 years with a blood cancer called Myelofibrosis and has had over 400 blood transfusions at this point. He’s in a rough spot because he has been unable to work regularly and can no longer afford to pay for his medications that are not covered by Medicaid.

This Friday night the Devil’s Backbone band- joined by Ben Cooper on the fiddle- will be playing to give our dear friend and bass player the financial help he needs to keep going. We hope you’ll join us in our effort. Any amount is greatly appreciated. If you’d like to contribute but cannot come out this Friday night, you may also contribute money to “Carl’s Cancer Fund” under Beth Holyoke’s name at the YS Credit Union.
