Carl Schumacher’s “California or Bust!” Benefit & Wine Tasting

It’s been 2 ½ years since nine local bands played a benefit for Carl Schumacher. The good news is: in spite of his ongoing health issue and grueling medical treatments, Carl is still here and is still fighting, and for that we are all thankful!

Carl was diagnosed with Myleofibrosis in 2013. Since then he has been being treated by the Cleveland Clinic: chemotherapy, blood transfusions, and a variety of medications to try to slow the progression of his illness. This has left Carl, a carpenter, in a weakened state with very little income.

Jeannie Ulrich & Devil’s Backbone would like to invite you to a benefit to help Carl:
• he is plagued by ongoing living expenses
• his car is in need of expensive repairs—needed for transportation to Cleveland Clinic and medical treatments
• AND–IF AT ALL POSSIBLE–he wants to be there to see his daughter achieve her life-long dream of becoming a veterinarian—she graduates from U.C. Davis’ Vet School, in California, next month.
