Glen Helen Stewardship: Earning her GHer Patch

Come discuss the possibility of starting a GHer program that is earned through stewardship of the Glen.

The film ‘The Mountains Will Wait For You’ by Frederick T. Shwoebel, will be shown to inspire your creative ideas. Immediatly following the movie will be a discussion of how we can create a unique GHer program for Glen Helen.

Brief Synopsis of Movie:
‘The Mountains Will Wait For You’ is the story about Grace Hudowalski, the first woman to climb the 46 High Peaks in the Adirondack Mountains. Her lifelong passion for the mountains and her devotion to a climbing organization called the Adirondack 46ers made her the eventual matriarch of the group. Members wrote to Grace to share their climbs, and she responded to every letter with words of encouragement and reflections from her time on those very peaks. ‘The Mountains Will Wait For You’ is an homage to Grace.
