Holiday Fest!

                Get into the Holiday spirit in everyone’s favorite place on Saturday, December 12 for Holiday Fest! Join us in Yellow Springs for a day of relaxed shopping, delicious food and drinks, and holiday festivities. Over 65 shops, galleries and eateries will be open with unique and quirky holiday gifts, delicious food and holiday “spirits”.

                The big event of the day for kids and adults alike is the Mills Lawn Gingerbread Festival starting at 11:00 AM. There will be a gingerbread house contest for all ages (registration required), cookie cottage decorating for kids, “Santa Springs” raffle for local merchandise, candy count contest, face-painting, hot cocoa and cookies plus a selfie station. Santa Claus will also be joining the festivities from 1-4 pm. There will be horse-drawn wagon rides provided by Horse-N-Around Farm starting at noon. Festivities at Mills Lawn Elementary School last until 4PM! Parents can participate in the fun or use the chance to do a little holiday shopping downtown, just a short block from Mills Lawn!               

Jingle Bell Rock on down to the Little Art Theatre at 11:30 AM for a showing of Polar Express, part of their Family Holiday Series! Also enjoy the Holiday Pottery Sale at John Bryan Community Pottery from 11AM-5PM, followed by the Arts Alive! Holiday concert and cookie bake-off at the Yellow Springs Arts Council from 6:30-9:30 PM! There’s also a presentation on Victorian Era Toys from President Theodore & Mrs. Roosevelt at the Mills Lawn School Library at 1:00 PM!

A trip to Yellow Springs is never complete without a visit to one of our many and varied eateries. Ye Olde Trail Tavern is featuring “The Twelve Drinks of Christmas,” both alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails to warm you up while you’re out enjoying the Winter Wonderland. Or head down to Yellow Springs Brewery to taste their newest brew or your old favorite. While you’re there be sure to check out S&G Artisan Distillery for a taste of their Honey Do. Don’t miss free fire engine rides with hot chocolate and candy canes at the BP station from 4-6PM!

                Adding to the holiday spirit is Young’s Tree Farm where you can pick or cut your own tree and the Legendary Lights of Clifton Mill.  Yellow Springs offers a truly unique atmosphere for celebrating the holidays and finding just the right gift for everyone on your list so come visit us on December 12 or any other time during the holiday season.
