Mushroom Workshop w/ Mark Jones
Location: Agraria, 131 E Dayton Yellow Springs Rd, Yellow Springs, OH 45387
Mark Jones is the owner and mycologist at Sharondale Mushroom Farm in Cismont, VA. Sharondale grows the highest quality certified organic mushrooms and organic mushroom spawn. Sharondale Farm mushrooms are recognized as Virginia’s Finest by VDACS, and the farm is a United Plant Savers Botanical Sanctuary. Sharondale offers workshops, tools and supplies for mushroom and microbial cultivation.
Day 1:
- Introduction to the fungi
- Prepare materials for hands-on cultivation
- Lab design and protocols
- Hands-on intro lab techniques
- Inoculate plant material and logs also hands-on activity
- Daily evaluation and Q&A
Day 2:
- Amplifying native mycorrrhizae and IMOs
- Hands-on mycorrhizal cultivation
- Identifying and culturing agriculturally important fungi
- Continue hands-on inoculation and set up outdoor
- mushroom growing area
- Using fungi for food, medicine, education, and therapy
- Workshop evaluation and Q&A
