Pearls of Wisdom Workshop Series
March 29, 2022 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 5:30 pm on Tuesday and Thursday, repeating until March 31, 2022
The Pearls of Wisdom Workshop Series will use theater and creative writing activities to explore the intersectionality of memory, history, and landscape in the development of personal identity, and co-create a public performance using theater/creative writing techniques to express the value of generational transfer. Eight participants will take a well-guided deep dive into story-telling and staging to create a mosaic of shared and diverse experiences, challenges, and perspectives as a gift to future generations. The workshops will culminate in a co-created, interactive performance for an all-ages audience. Participants will not be required to perform.
Participants are expected to commit to attending all sessions and the final performance, as spaces are very limited. No previous experience is necessary. Application required.
This Series, funded in partnership with the Ohio Arts Council, will be led by Omope Carter Daboiku, Agraria’s first Artist in Residence. OC Daboiku is a life-long cultural geographer, wordsmith and storyteller. She was also one of Agraria’s first Regenerative Farmer Fellows in 2021.
Participants are asked to donate $3-90, depending on ability, accepted during the first session. Thanks to generous funding from the Ohio Arts Council and Agraria Center for Regenerative Practice, this Series can be provided at this low cost to participants. Participants will be given invitations to the Performance to distribute.
