Seven art collectors in town are opening their doors to you at this year’s Art House Hop. Take yourself on a self-guided tour to enjoy these works which are rarely on display to the public. The collections are very, very varied. They contain distinctive historical and contemporary art. A couple of the homes themselves are art–beautiful, well known historical homes, an old Baptist Church and a home that was self designed and personally hand built. There are paintings, prints, photographs, furniture, stoneware, ceramics, textiles and especially quilts, silver and glass, intricately beaded Egyptian style necklaces, jewelry, textile art dolls in meticulously researched Traditional Folk Costumes, and Native American artwork. There are local, regional, international and historical artists represented many well known.

The tour happens rain or shine. The homes are located all around town, so biking or driving between homes is recommended, rather than walking. The homeowners will be on hand to greet you and answer your questions. And please be sure to make time to visit the YSAC Community Gallery. Kathy Moulton, whose work is currently on display, will be there to answer questions about her work, and bronze sculptures from the Bronze Symposium will be on special display in the Multi-Purpose Room.

The Art House-Hop is a Fundraiser for the Yellow Springs Arts Council.
