Solstice Poetry Reading
December 11, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
I hope you’ll join us on Friday, December 11, 7:00 p.m., when 8 Ohio poets take the virtual stage for the ninth annual Solstice Poetry Reading, co-sponsored by Tecumseh Land Trust and Glen Helen. Due to the pandemic, we’ll be unable to enjoy the cozy atmosphere of the Glen’s Vernet Ecological Building this year; however, the Zoom format means we can extend our reach to include distant poets like Kari Gunter-Seymour (current Ohio poet laureate), Robin Mullet and Kerry Trautman.
This year’s roster contains fresh, new (and diverse) voices as well as seasoned veterans—and I know you’ll want to hear them. This year’s theme is “Solstice: The Healing Earth,” and each poet will read for up to 8 minutes. There will be no open mic this year.
Here’s the lineup (in alphabetical order, the order in which they’ll read):
Jaime Adoff
Kathy B. Austin
Mario Cosey
Kari Gunter-Seymour
Furaha Henry-Jones
Robin Mullet
Frances Simon
Kerry Trautman
To attend, all you need to do is email sunflowers@tecumsehlandtrust.org. Once registered, you will receive a link to the Zoom meeting. Please register by Thursday, December 10. While the event is free, a $5 donation is suggested!
