Trifles, a play by Susan Glaspell, a murder mystery from 1916
Thursday, September 18, 2014
7:30 p.m.
This Thursday in the Foundry Theatre! A riveting interpretation of a play that continues to be vital! Free and open to the public.
Susan Glaspell wrote her one-act play, Trifles, in 1916. She was inspired by events that happened years earlier, when she was a reporter for the Des Moines News and covered the trial of Margaret Hossack, accused of killing her husband with an ax while he slept. Trifles refers to worthless things, and her point is that there are no worthless things when it comes to murder.
