The final Blacks in Yellow Springs walking tour of the 2019 season will be “Wheeling Gaunt’s Yellow Springs,” visiting sites associated with African American real estate investor and philanthropist Wheeling Gaunt (1812-1894). Gaunt’s gift to Yellow Springs of 9 acres of land became the basis for Gaunt Park on West South College. The tour is sponsored by The 365 Project, a local organization the presents programs celebrating Black culture and racial equity. 365 Project members train middle and high school students to lead the tours. The tour will begin on Saturday, 10/26 at 1pm at the Mills Park Hotel, and last approximately two hours. Admission $5 per person, children 12 and under free.
