YSKP presents The Farm

July 16, 2015 @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

Yellow Springs Kids Playhouse is thrilled to announce their 2015 summer show: THE FARM. The Farm is inspired by Orwell’s Animal Farm and our local Whitehall Farm auction in 1999. Can the wild animals, farm animals and human kids work together to save their beloved farm from developers?

Ara Beal will direct our 21st summer show, and our 19th commissioned musical.
Curtis Goldstein will join us to create our scenic elements, including life sized Steampunk-inspired tractors and bulldozers. Pierre Nagley and Travis Tarbox Hotaling painted our mural.
Ayn Wood designed our puppets (6-8 ft., Bread and Puppet-inspired humans) and costumes (Steampunk-styled animals).

All humans will be played by puppets, and animals played by actors.

Parker Farm finds itself without a farmer, and is facing being sold. Will the developers buy it and build or will the animals and kids be able to work together to save their beloved farm?

Antioch Area Amphitheater (with Antioch Foundry Theater as a rain venue)

Tickets are available at the door at $10 for adults and $5 for seniors and students.
