Yellow Springs Theatre Company Cold Reading Workshops

In preparation for the upcoming performances of Nassim Soleimanpour’s “White Rabbit Red Rabbit,” YSTC will be holding cold reading workshops, led by artistic director, Lorrie Sparrow-Knapp.

All workshops will be at Antioch University Midwest on August 19th and 20th in room A105 and August 26th and 27th in room B101. All workshops take place at 7 p.m.

These workshops are open to YSTC company members and the community for participation. Anyone who wants to learn to cold read or practice their skills can come. All are welcome to attend!

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:

Workshops will be working sessions, on our feet and working on the following:

–Participants will focus on techniques to assist with presenting any written subject matter “cold”, performing or presenting it in front of others for the first time without prior studying or review.

— How to “pick up” more of the page when reading or performing material.

–Techniques on how to share unfamiliar material and present it to listeners.

–Tips on emotional connection to material when reading it for the first time–how to tell the story and enjoy it while you do it!
