FreeEND OF LIFE COMMUNITY FORUM
NOVEMBER 10, 2014
“Advanced Directives: Necessary But Not Sufficient” is the subject of the November meeting of the End of Life Community Forum, to be held at Rockford Chapel on Monday, November 10 at 7 pm.
Group members are exploring ways to ensure their end-of-life choices will be respected. The discussion will touch on the value and limitations of advanced directives, options for choice in dying in the US and abroad, the concept of Windows of Opportunity, barriers to individual autonomy, Not Dead Yet and the slippery-slope argument, and the need for informed advocacy.
Villagers Charlotte and Rubin Battino will bring information from the recent conference of the World Federation of Right To Die Societies. Brief video clips of Death-With-Dignity efforts in Switzerland and Holland will be shown as time permits, and an extended documentary is available for a future showing.
The End of Life Community Forum welcomes visitors and new members.
