Help us welcome Nicki to John Bryan Community Pottery and the Yellow Springs community!

Nicki started out making mostly functional ceramics and now looks for ways to embody her personality or a problem she is facing in the finished product. Her preferred medium is clay, but has begun including other materials to tell her story. She migrates often and therefore creates the idea of nests and seeds in her work to soothe her anxiety about needing a sense of belonging and legacy. 

Nicki has attempted to title the pieces with words that will allude to what they are about but as with all good stories, no amount of words will be adequate. So feel free to seek her out and ask about the story behind the piece.
